The craftsmanship on all of standard windows and glazed doors are professionally made for us and are made with tenon and mortice jointing. We do not compromise on the quality of the iron mongery .Our floor and roofs are made with quality red deal tongue and groove matchboard.
Every aspect of the timber build process is of the highest quality. The sheds are built with the best grade redwood timber which is cut to size using precision, automated saws and milling machines.
It is important if a garden building is going to last and remain weather proof that each part of it is built from good solid timber, especially the roof and floors. The grade of timber is also important. Whilst outside buildings can be made from lower grade white pine such buildings will have a shorter life span. This is why only the finest European Redwood is used throughout every timber building. Of equal importance is the accuracy of machining. Parts that don’t fit together will be likely to let the weather in and the heat out!
The doors on our sheds are fully ledge & braced to minimise dropping (which would cause difficulties in closing) and are fitted using three sturdy 12” BZP plated T hinges. All doors are supplied with lock and key as standard.
All specifications are as follows.
Cladding
12.5mm x 120mm Tongue and Grooved Shiplap Boards. Alternatively all our buildings can be made using log lap boarding.
Framing
44mm x 29 mm Planed Timber. As shed size goes up the framing gets thicker.
Floor
12.5mm x 120mm Tongue and Grooved V Board on 50mm x 32mm Joists.
Roof
12.5mm x 120mm Tongue and Grooved V Boards on 44mm x 29mm Joists. Green roofing felt is supplied.
Windows
Opening windows are top hung 3mm Horticultural Glass.
Georgian style windows are available on most buildings.
